Air Quality Monitoring

Upwind and downwind air quality monitoring equipment measuring PM2.5 (particulate matter) and VOCs known as BTEX was installed within 500’ of the well pad.

The prevailing wind direction for this region is from the southwest. CNX positioned the PM2.5 monitors such that one would be subject to winds from upwind of the well pad and the other would be in the path of wind traveling across the well pad (downwind).

Fluid Additives

Pre drill and post completions water quality monitoring for residential drinking water wells, and springs, displayed here, are initiated for approximately a year ahead of drilling activity and an additional year after initial production.

Results for the samples collected of these private water supplies, where owners have opted in to the program, can be found here with comparisons to federal and state safe drinking water standards. This information will help establish and illustrate baseline water quality conditions and provide comparison to conditions after completion of well development activity. All samples are collected by a third-party environmental consultant and samples are analyzed by a state certified drinking water laboratory. Additional results for comparison will be added as they are available.
